  3. Summary of What the Bill Proposes to Do
    This Bill proposes to establish a legal framework for the coordinated management of Zambia’s borders in order to improve the movement and clearance of goods and persons. It seeks to facilitate trade by implementing agreements on one-stop border posts and simplified trading arrangements with neighbouring states. The Bill provides for the designation of control zones, the establishment of administrative and oversight bodies, and the application of both Zambian and adjoining states’ laws within one-stop border posts. It introduces the Zambia Electronic Single Window System to streamline trade processes and repeals the Border Management and Trade Facilitation Act, 2018.
